Rabbi Zvi Grumet (Yeshivat Eretz HaTsvi, Yerushalayim) will give 4 lectures dealing with cultural influences on the classical commentaries on the Torah. He will concentrate largely on two 12th-century contemporaries, Rabbi Avraham Ibn Ezra ("Ibn Ezra"), a Sephardic sage from Spain, and Rabbi Shmuel ben Meir ("Rashbam"), an Ashkenazic sage from France.
