Rick Recht is the top-touring musician in Jewish music playing over 150 concerts a year in the United States and abroad. Recht is widely recognized for his appeal to youth and family audiences not only as an exceptional musician, singer/songwriter, and entertainer, but as a role model for involvement in Jewish life. He has become an icon for Jewish youth in the United States, elevating the medium of Jewish music as a powerful and effective tool for developing Jewish pride and identity among the masses. February is Jewish Disability Awareness Month!

In honor of Jewish Disability Awareness Month, Federation's Committee on Inclusion and Disabilities is bring the film Storm Reading to Congregation B'nai Israel on February 25, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. The film, starring Neil Marcus, Matthew Ingersoll, and Kathryn Voice captures the daily life of someone with a disability. The evening also includes a clip documenting the Winter Sports Clinic put on by the Disabled Veterans U.S.A. and a panel discussion that includes a parent of a child with a disability, a person with a disability, and a professional who works with the disability community. Communitywide Yom HaShoah Commemoration

The Sacramento region's Communitywide Yom HaShoah Commemoration is April 19, 2012 at 7:00 p.m.at Mosaic Law Congregation, 2300 Sierra Blvd., Sacramento. Honor your loved ones by entering their names into the Book of Remembrance, which includes a listing of family, loved ones, and friends of Sacramento-area residents who perished in the Holocaust. The Book of Remembrance form must be returned by March 30, 2012. For more information about the Book, contact Sharon Sugerman at ssugerma@comcast.net.

New Teen Adventure Program! LOCATION CHANGE!

Forty youth returned to the Sacramento area on January 8, 2012 from the first-ever Sacramento Birthright trip organized by Federation. Check out their blog and photos!

Sacramento Family Featured in National Video!

Meet Lauren, Mike, and Madeline Zimmerman, beneficiaries of The PJ Library in Sacramento. The Zimmermans were selected to be featured in a video produced by Jewish Federations of North America, which highlights this Jewish outreach and literacy program.
