February is Jewish Disability Awareness Month!
In honor of Jewish Disability Awareness Month, Federation's Committee on Inclusion and Disabilities is bring the film Storm Reading to Congregation B'nai Israel on February 25, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. The film, starring Neil Marcus, Matthew Ingersoll, and Kathryn Voice captures the daily life of someone with a disability. The evening also includes a clip documenting the Winter Sports Clinic put on by the Disabled Veterans U.S.A. and a panel discussion that includes a parent of a child with a disability, a person with a disability, and a professional who works with the disability community. The Sacramento region's Communitywide Yom HaShoah Commemoration is April 19, 2012 at 7:00 p.m.at Mosaic Law Congregation, 2300 Sierra Blvd., Sacramento. Honor your loved ones by entering their names into the Book of Remembrance, which includes a listing of family, loved ones, and friends of Sacramento-area residents who perished in the Holocaust. The Book of Remembrance form must be returned by March 30, 2012. For more information about the Book, contact Sharon Sugerman at ssugerma@comcast.net.
