The Yachad Mission

Yachad, the Community Jewish High School of the Sacramento Region, is sponsored by the synagogues of Greater Sacramento and Davis as a program of the Jewish Federation of the Sacramento Region. Yachad has a diverse Jewish population and offers and enriched academic and cultural program.

All courses are taught without denominational bias. You need not be affiliated with a synagogue to be eligible for enrollment. You will be encouraged to expand your knowledge of Judaism and to exchange views on issues of importance. The innovative curriculum and caring staff provide the opportunity to develop strong, positive Jewish values and a sense of unity with the Jewish people.

Parent and Student input through active advisory committees, is vital to our program.  In addition, parents are encouraged to volunteer weekly or for special events.

Yachad seeks to provide:
· The opportunities to learn, socialize, worship and celebrate together.
· Exposure to a broader variety of information, adult role models and Jewish experiences than students would otherwise encounter.
· An all-inclusive atmosphere.
· Involvement of as many area students, whether affiliated or unaffiliated, as possible.
· The best possible program to meet student needs through using available community resources and individuals.
· A realization that ongoing Jewish learning is necessary for personal growth.
· An appreciation and respect for the various ideologies of Judaism along with an understanding of other religions.
